Say Good-bye to our Camry and Hello to our New Trailblazer!!

I told you that I would show a picture of the new car that Scott has been looking for. It is a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer. I am excited to drive a car that sets me up higher like my suburban did, when I drive the Camry I feel like I am dragging butt. I wanted a vehichle that had a third seat in it but they don't make them any more in the Trailblazer, I could have gone up to a Tahoe, but it would have cost more and it is longer, and wouldn't have fit in the garage, so we decided to get this one. I think it will work just fine. My husband has spoiled me, I hadn't even said anything about it. I love him dearly and appreciate all he has done for me. Thanks honey!!!!

What a Christmas!

Merry Christmas! We woke up around 8 am, the kids slept in. Later I found out that Mik got up around 2am and came upstairs, then ran back downstairs, jumped on Lisa and Scott screaming "it's Christmas, it's Christmas, Santa has been here, come on mom get up" Lisa told him to be quite and go back to sleep, and he did.

It was fun watching the kids open their presents all excited about what they got. Mik was an animal, opening up everything he could, and then started on the presents under the tree, until his mom said to wait until the girls had finished. The presents were all opened and then we had french toast for breakfast. Yum! It continued to snow from the night before. Scott went out and used the snow blower and did all the neighbors, helping others with their driveways and sidewalks. The day was going good, I went and took a shower late, and then came into the kitchen to start to fix somethings for dinner since the kids will be here about 3 or 4 pm. Lisa and I were in the kitchen when the back door flew opened and Scott was bleeding and saying this isn't the best Christmas so far. He had cut the tip of his index finger almost all the way off, as I was screaming and freaking out, putting my shoes on and having Scott West drive us to the emergency room, since Brad had the truck. and the roads were not that great, and our Camry wouldn't even make it out of our neighborhood. Well after 3 hours later Scott had 14 stitches and has to see a hand specialist on Monday. He has been on pain meds so he can't drive, so I am the designated driver, ye ha!!
Scott had wanted to surprise me with a new car, but he has had a hard time in finding the one he wanted, they are all sold, my brother Lynn works for Gus Paulos in West Valley, he sent him to a sales associate and he has been working with Scott, he finally found one up in Logan so we are picking it up tomorrow, they will bring it down. I will post a picture of when we get it. So all in all everything has worked out and all is well. So What a Christmas it was! I hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas and that no mishaps were in your day or anything else. I love Christmas, even if things happen that you don't plan, it makes it more interesting and memorable. I know that my savior lives and I do love him and am so grateful for his great example. I love my family and the love they show us and are always there for us. I just want you all to know that I do love you and appreciate all that you do for Scott and I and that we are so grate full for your friendship. Have a great day!!
Here are some fun pictures of the kids enjoying the snow, the girls trying to ride their new bikes outside. Scott sleeping (druged from the percect) and many other Christmas pictures.

SNOW!!!

We never thought that we were ever going to see snow, but it finally came, and so the days of warm have come to a close, for now any ways. Some of us welcomed it but some did not like waking up to white on the ground (me in other words). I guess you would call me the chief snow shoveler, now that I am at home. After shoveling for about the 3 or 4th time in one day, I text Scott saying that I wanted a snow blower for Christmas, just joking of course, but he found one on ksl.com for a reasonable price and we went and got it, now I need to take lessons to learn how to use it. Mik was pretty disappointed, he was my assistant snow shoveler along with Halli, they have had a ball in the snow, going sledding with our neighbor kids and just throwing it up in the air and letting it fall on them. They made snow angels in the yard, while their dad fed the dogs.

After they came in and warmed up we made a gingerbread house.
On Wednesday night I picked up Preston to have him over night, due to Matt had surgery on his ear, so I thought it would be better for Amy to take care of Matt and not have to worry about a baby, so he came to play at grandma's house for a couple of days. Boy did the girls love that. As you can see he wanted to help with the gingerbread house.

Brad is pretty stoked with the snow and all, he can finally go snowboarding, which is doing right now as we speak, we took him up there early this morning with one of his friends ( he can't drive with any one in his car until Jan. so we are the lucky ones to get him up there)

Traffic is not so fun, with the snow, when I was going to the doctor the other day a UTA bus and car had collided and so instead of taking me 5 minutes to get to my doctors it took me 20, crazy what a little white snowflake can do. Well they said we don't have to worry about not having a white Christmas, that it is supposed to snow next week. Well where ever you are I hope that you are enjoying the season, whether in snow or not, just stay nice and warm.

OLD SKIN!!

Lisa and I were going through some pictures yesterday to put on my blog from my wedding and came acrossed a picture of Scott and I. Kinzie looked at the picture and said "that's my papa!" and then she looked at the picture and then at me, and then at the picture again, she said "is that you mema?" I said "doesn't it look like me?" She wrinkled up her nose and said "you don't have old skin in the picture!" Only out of the mouths of babes!!!! We couldn't stop laughing, it was so funny! So you'll have to excuse the picutres of me with my OLD SKIN!

This was taken in 1991. So I guess I didn't have old skin then.

31 Wonderful Years ( or was it?) Who am I kidding?!!!!

Well another year has gone by today 31 years ago Scott and I got married/sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. And looking out at the sky and weather it is exactly the same as the day we were married. We were so dumb to have been married during the holidays, but no one could talk us out of it, we were so YOUNG and IN LOVE. I have enjoyed being a wife to Scott, no it hasn't been easy, but that is life, and we have grown to help each other and learn our mistakes together. He is a great provider and is always there for me. He has been a great dad, and such a cute Papa to our 10 grand kids. I love him with all my heart and want to be there for another 30+ years to come. These first pictures are 31 years ago,
these next 2 are today, boy what a difference 31 years make.
This weekend was our ward Christmas party, Lisa 27th Birthday and then our wedding aniversary, so it was full. Scott and Lisa went out to dinner for Lisa's birthday so we took the kids to our Christmas party, they were having so much fun, and then Mik said he wasn't feeling good, so I took the kids home and put on jammies, and the girls had hot chocolate and Mik to bed, Well in the night Kinzie, Scott and Mik all threw up, so now we start all over with the flu in the house, last week the kids were sick, along with Brad staying home for 2 days which is not like him to miss school, so I knew he was sick. SO lets hope that no one else gets sick for the holidays.

We celebrated Lisa's b-day on Sunday I got her a ice cream cake like she always wanted when she was a kid, and as you can see she tried to not have her picture taken and tried to hide behind Brad, but I got her. As she and Brad were trying to cut this frozen cake, it fell over on it's top, we had a good laugh about that. Lisa took our family (Scott, myself and Brad, were getting smaller each year.) on Sunday after church, so here are the results. We hope you all have a great week and if I don't talk to you next week have a great Christmas, and may all your wishes and dreams come true. And may your family have a Christ filled holiday and thank him for all that he does for us. We love you all very much. Love, Scott and Leita and Brad

Wrestling?

Yeah, you heard me WRESTLING. Brad has never wanted to swim like the girls. He has played either Baseball or Basketball and now he is trying something new and he isn't doing to bad, he has a lot to learn, but he is very patient and doing the best he can. I too have a lot to learn about what goes on, I just yell and copy what ever anybody else says, the other moms help me out and explain what is going on, but I still don't get some of it, I just know that he wants to be the one on top and pin the opponent.

Brad has grown up so much, he is now 6ft tall and weighs about 186, so he wrestles in the 189 pound group. He wants to weigh in at 171 pound group. He is a very social person and is also a very caring about others feelings.
Today Brad is out on his first formal date. He was asked out by a girl at his work (Macey's) she goes to Pleasant Grove High School, so they went to her Preference.

Wow, I can't believe that he is that old now. Driving, dating, working, what next, I know, college, Mission wow it will be here in no time. Here are a couple pictures of my little boy. OK he isn't a baby anymore. So enjoy and will be back soon!

Thanksgiving is over?

I can't believe how fast each month is going. We have less than 22 days and Christmas will be here. I know that I haven't written for a month now, Lisa reminded me on Monday that it has been since the 3rd of November since I blogged. Now that we are back in town from a 9 day trip to Arizona I can tell all of what we did. On November 22 we (Scott, myself, Heidi and her 3 boys) set out at 5:30 am headed for Arizona. Scott had forgotten something at work so we stopped in Springville to get it, and one of the boys said "are we at aunt Jenn's?" I just laughed and told them we still have 11 hours to go. They were good for the most part, what can you expect from a 7, 5 and 2 1/2 yr old. Well we arrived at Jennifer's around 5:30 pm (we would have been there sooner but I or Scott didn't read the directions right,I was driving and Scott was navigating (and Scott didn't listen to Jennifer's directions) Jenn's girls met us jumping up and down yelling "mema, papa" I was just ready to get out of the car. Thank Heaven for the DVD players and hand held games!!!!
The next day was Sunday and we all went to Jenn's ward which started at 10 am which in my opinion is the best time ever. Not to early not to late. But in sacrament meeting they (the ward) found out that they had split 2 wards to make a 3rd and now Jenn's ward will go to church at 2 pm. I am sorry Jenn, I have done that time and it sucks and I don't have any kids to worry about (OK I have Brad) in teasing I told Jenn and Rich I guess it is time to become inactive since you now have the latest time. They have a great ward, the people were very friendly, coming up to us and making us feel very welcome.
Monday came and Jennifer's girls still had to go to school, which they didn't want to go since they had cousins there, so I would get up and walk Abby to the bus stop each morning at 7:30 and then at 3:10 each afternoon. Paige had preschool and of course I was the one that had to take her in (you have to know Paige, she is like an extra appendage on you) so each day we took her, on Tuesday she had come out of preschool as a Indian and on Wednesday a Pilgrim. She also had dance that we took her too, in both her preschool and her dance class she is the tallest one. I guess I never thought that my grand kids were tall, until I saw them up against other kids. All this time Heidi's boys were having a ball, mainly playing with the girls and of course their PSP's. Wednesday evening we went to see my nephew Geoffrey and his wife Louisa and their kids, it was fun to see their house and visit with them.
Thursday came and the kids were so excited to celebrate Thanksgiving, but a couple of the kids thought that we were leaving after we ate since we told them that we were leaving after Thanksgiving, we had to reassure them we were not going until Sunday. Scott, Rich and Jennifer put up Christmas lights around Jenn's house. Rich calls Jenn Mrs. Griswold.
Black Friday ( I have never gotten up for) we got up at 3:30 (I should clarify who we are Jennifer, myself and Heidi) and was at Wal-Mart before 4, crazy I know, we didn't even get what we really were there for, but we did get some other things that the girls needed. Then off to Target, Kohls, Toys-R-Us, JoAnn's Fabric, and tried to get to Bath and Body Works, but no parking so we went home and it was about 12. We ate lunch and then went on a hike up to the wind caves on Usery Pass. The kids were having a ball until they started to get thirsty and guess what, you guessed it, we had forgotten to bring water, good thing it wasn't 115 degrees, (I don't think we would've forgotten it had it been that hot) well Paige cried and cried and cried and cried, until an older gentleman that we were passing, gave us his 2nd bottle of water that he hadn't used yet, so he was our hero for the day. All was good after that, when we got down we took the kids to McDonald's to get an ice cream cone and play in the play place. Then back to the house for some dinner.
Saturday, was a day getting all of the things put together to leave the next day, when that was done we went to the park by Abby's school for a picnic. They kids had so much fun, with the swings, and slides and everything a kid likes to do. Back to the house to play and have dinner and then we went to the Mesa Temple that night to see the lights on the temple grounds and the Nativity scenes. It was very pretty, but my camera is not the camera to take pictures of such a pretty sight, so bear with. We also went to a neighborhood that had Christmas lights on and each house had a different theme of Christmas, there was one house that we even went into their backyard that had the Christmas story in it. Then home, all the kids were sound asleep, until we walked in the house and they wanted to start playing or watching a movie, but g-ma had cookies to make with her grandkids, so out came the cookie dough she had made earlier and the kids cut out sugar cookies. No time to frost them it was late as it was, so aunt Jenn had to do it with out us.
Sunday we headed back home, left at 8 and got home around 7:30. It was good to be home and sleep in our own beds.
Monday was a crazy day I was in charge of my family Christmas party, so I had a lot of running around to do, to get all of the finishing touches done for the party, I was glad that I had done things before I went to Arizona. So I have now updated my blog and hope that you haven't been to bored. Hope you all have a great month and I am sure we will talk again!
