A Grand Celebration!

On Saturday, we all celebrated Grandma Joan's 80th birthday, and she is still celebrating!!!

Joan is my stepmother and has been for the past 22 years. She is a great lady and you would never know that she wasn't my real mother. She has made me feel like I have belonged to her all my life. Joan has a way of loving you no matter what the case might be. She is such a special person in my life. Joan's kids (Karen, Karla and Krehl and their spouses) did such a great job of compiling things and giving her a great birthday party. It was so fun to be there to honor her. Here are a few pictures of the special day. This is one with my siblingsThis is a picture of Scott and I with our kids and their kids that could come.
Joan and her daughter Karla and son Krehl, next is her wedding dress. And this is my dad with his sister Bea who is 88
Scott and I with the birthday girl.
On Monday we (the Child crew) got together and went to dinner to continue celebrating Joan's Birthday, but dumb me forgot to take pictures. We got caught up in talking and eating. Plus the table we were in wasn't very convenient to take pictures, but I should have had the waitress do it for us. Oh well. We had fun!!! Happy Birthday Joan. We love you very much.

Preston's 1st Birthday!!

WOW!!!! How time goes by. Well our youngest grand child is now 1 years old. I can't believe it. He was so cute on his birthday, but you have to know Preston, he doesn't get overly excited about anything, so if you can get him to smile you are doing good. He has a very calm and reserved spirit about him that makes you just want to squeeze him.

We all went to Amy and Matt's house up in Heber to celebrate the birthday with them and Matt's family. Amy had made a cute monkey cake which was really cute. (Amy does catering and cake decorating ie...wedding cakes and such, just a plug for you Ame's) and she had made cupcakes also. What do you do for a 1 year old for a birthday? Well as you can see in the pictures, we did a lot of standing around and he ate his cake and we all talked,he didn't know what was going on, so we went downstairs to open presents.

He loved his truck that Grandma and Grandpa Field got him, but didn't really care for the clothes (what kid does), and the little truck that his uncle Rob and aunt Mindy got him, and he especially liked the treats that uncle Jake and aunt Nicole gave him, to keep the sanity for Matt and Amy while in the car. He loved the lawn mover that Mom and Dad gave him so he can go help dad with the lawn. (this one doesn't use gas Matt) But I really think that he really likes the stroller that grandma Field gave you that was Rebecca's when she was a little girl. Preston and his little cousin Abby (Rob and Mindy's daughter)fight over it and they see who can distract each other to see who can get to it before the other one does. (I am sure that Abby is so gratefull for the lawn mower and wagon) We as a family went in on a wagon for him, since he loves to be outside and in his stroller going for walks, we thought that it would be a good change from the stroller. Of course his cousins thought it would be fun to push him in the house, so Ayden and Abby helpped him enjoy his wagon.
We love you Preston and can't wait until next year!!!! Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Been there and Back!

Well it all started about 3 weeks ago. and yes I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything, so get ready for a long drawn out blog. Don't get to bored.

On February 27th we went with the Scouts in our ward to Moab at 5:30 in the morning, they were riding Slick rock, and Scott had a ride in St. George that same weekend and he (the biker that he is) wanted to ride with the boys, so we went and he had a great time, we stayed there for about 3-4 hours (I read) and then off to St. George ( I know one city on the southeast corner of the state and the other city on the northeast corner) what a long drive, I don't recommend it to anyone.

On Saturday Feb 28 Scott and his nephew Jason started on their way to 100 miles. Jason's wife Lori and I went out shopping, it was a lot of fun to go around (not that I am much of a shopper), but it was fun doing something other than just sitting in a room reading, or out by myself. Thanks Lori I really had a lot of fun with you and little Sadie.

On Sunday Scott and I went to Church in Leeds Utah, where I have friends there (yes I do have some friends) and then got home so that we could celebrate our grandson Ayden's birthday.

On Tuesday March 3rd, I flew to Arizona and surprised my grand daughters. It was Abby's 8th birthday and I thought it would be fun to surprise her for it. So when she got off the bus from school, we were walking up to the bus stop and as she got off she couldn't tell who was with her mom, and then she realized it was me and started running screaming g-ma, I got the biggest hug ever. That night we all went to dinner at Logan's Roadhouse. (similar to Texas Roadhouse). We had a lot of fun together while I was there. We went shopping and out to lunch and dinner, we played candy land and other games, we watched her dad build their swing set, we made cookies and watched movies we had a lot of fun together. You name it and we did it. While I was there Abby was on Spring break, which was great. Hope you are enjoying another week of Spring break Abby. And hope that you had a fun birthday and baptism day. Gma loves you and I am so proud of you and your decision to be baptized. Have a great week with your aunt Jennifer and uncle Fred, and your cousins Anthony and Kennedy!!!

Last friday March 13th Scott, Brad and Megan got to Arizona at 3:45 in the morning, driving all night to get there so they could enjoy a longer time with everyone, and to enjoy the warm weather also. That evening we packed up my things and went to my nephew's (Geoff)house in Queen Creek, so that all of Rich's family could stay at Jenn and Rich's house. We really had a lot of fun at Geoff and Louisa's house even though we were not there for most of the day, just at night and in the morning. Thanks guys we really appreciated you giving up some space for our benefit. We enjoyed the long night talks with you and your kids are so cute. Hope Carson is feeling better.

Saturday was a busy day for all of us. Abby's baptism was at 9:30 in the morning and so that meant getting up early and getting there by 9, (you got to remember their Stake center isn't as close as ours are in Utah). I had the opportunity to give the Baptism talk, boy was I ever nervous. I don't do talks in public, for the most part it went ok. (believe me there were some serious praying going on the week before) After the baptism Jenn had a luncheon at the house, it turned out great, other than we needed a lot more people there to eat all the food. We hung out all day and that evening we went to a restaurant called San Tan Flats, you eat outside and you can have a fire started to roast marshmallows and make s'mores, the kids loved it, there was a live band and dancing going on to.

We enjoyed church on Sunday, and for dinner we had Corned beef and cabbage for Megan's birthday (which is today, Happy Birthday Megan!!!)and left yesterday early to get back and enjoy the evening. So now you know where I have been for the past 2 weeks. Been there and now I am back. So now what do I do with myself, I love to travel. So if anyone wants to go on a trip and needs someone to go with I am willing and able. Have a great week, and I will be talking to you soon!

Thanks Jennifer and Rich for having me for as long as you did. I love you both and I had a great time. We will have to do it again!!
