The Annual Child Barbecue up at the Stairs Plant in Big Cottonwood Canyon

Monday 23rd of August we went to the stairs plant where we get together with all of my family to have a barbecue. We do this every year. My brother Scott works for the power company and is able to share this with all of us.
This year it was held on my nephew Richard's birthday, the day before was his sister Karyn's birthday so we celebrated it with them. They provided the cake which was very good. They are big baseball fans, so their cakes were decorated appropriately. Take a look at these pictures of everyone having a good time.

A Surprise Visit with Mik, Dean, Bink and their wives!

Saturday the 21st of August we went to see Dean, Mik and Bink and their wives (Gay, Leslie and Cindy) in Salt Lake City, they had all come to Utah to go to their 35th Viewmont High School Reunion. (Scott is a year older than them, so it wasn't his).

It was a lot of fun, we went to whole foods market and got lunch, and then we went up to Little Cottonwood Canyon, for the boys to reminisce, and try and show off their climbing skills, but as you see in the pictures, most of them can not do what they used to do when in high school, except Dean, he is still as little as he was in High School, so they say.
It was time for all of them to go and get ready for their dinner, so Scott and I went out to eat at Chili's and then went to see my dad and Joan, we stayed there about 2 hours, then we went back to where Dean and Mik were staying in Salt Lake City at a bed and breakfast. We talked and looked at old pictures that Dean had brought on his computer of all of the old days. We laughed and had a good time.
We are going to meet up with Mik and Leslie this weekend up in West Yellowstone, so I will be taking more pictures of there. Enjoy!

Camping!

On July 23 Scott and I rescued Lisa and Scott by taking their kids camping up to the Uinta's. We got there and Jason and Lori were already up there and had picked out a spot for all of us to be. It wasn't our usual spot but it worked and with as many people that were coming we needed a pretty good sized area.
Scott and Brad stayed up until Saturday night, and then Scott came back on Tuesday to stay the rest of the week. We enjoyed it a lot and the kids had a lot of fun. It was just relaxing to be able to just read and do whatever you wanted. Mik enjoyed doing things with Ben and the girls just had fun with whoever would play with them. Or they monopolized the hammocks. Next year I will have to make some so there won't be any one with out one. I took way to many pictures, so I will have to put them into a slideshow.
We learned lots of new songs and we still sing them here and there. You know once it gets into your head you can't get it out of there. A tootie tot a tootie tot! I'm making a purple soup, whip whip!! Thanks Whit, Corrine, Emily, Natalie and all of the kids, you made my trip so fun!!!! And to Lori and Mim for putting up with an old grandma hanging out with them. I love you all and am looking forward to next year. It will all depend when Brad gets his mission call and when he will have to report, so prayers are wanted so it won't interrupt our camping trip!
LOL!!

July 9 and 15th 2010

So now that Brad has graduated, Scott and Brad went on a canoeing trip on the John Day River in Oregon with our Scout Troop, they left on May 29 and came home on June 4, they had a lot of fun, other than it rained the whole time they were there. Brad went to Moab with his friends to bike slick rock and only stayed for 3 days, the heat was getting to them so they came home. On July 9th Brad went into surgery for his feet, he has hammer toes and they need to be fixed before he goes on his mission, so he is in a cast and will be in it for 6 weeks along with having pins in his toes (ouch!) He did really good through the surgery, when we got him home he mainly just slept, but on Saturday he was complaining of the pain, I had given him his painmeds but that didn't seem to be helping, so I called the doctor and he said that his cast is probably to tight and to meet him at his office, so Scott took him in and Dr. Rogers cut the sides of the cast open and relief was in sight. On the following Monday, Brad got a new cast and it seemed to be alright.

On July 15th Lisa gave birth to a newbaby boy! He weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz. He was their biggest baby, they were used to Mik and the twins who all were 5 and 6 pounds. He is a good baby, the kids can't get enough of him.
Here are some pictures of the baby. I forgot to take pictures of Bradley. Next time. He will be having his other foot done so I will have pictures of that.

The Begining of the End

So it is finally here, the day Scott and I had dreamed of for 18 years, and now I can't believe that it is here. Brad graduated on May 27th 2010 at the Marriott Center at BYU. We had all of the family there except all of Jennifer's family wasn't able to come, just Jennifer, so all of our 6 children were there, it was great, but kind of weird to know that your youngest is done with all of public school, no more parent teacher conference's, lunch money, any sports event, wow it is going to be weird this next coming fall, to not take that first day of school picture. I know life goes on but I just still can't believe that my little boy is as old as he is. His plan now is to either start UVU in the Spring or just get ready to go on his mission. Time will tell what will happen and I will update everyone as we know. Here are a few pictures at the graduation. It was night as you can see from the pictures, and my camera was not so great, so if I get some more I will post them.

I am still here, I just have been a little busy, and forgetful at the same time. I will be posting shortly, but I will be doing it in 2 to 3 different entries. So be patient and I will get to this shortly. Have a great week, if I don't get to this this week!
