We're Back!

Well we are back, as the title says. And I am exhausted! It was so fun to be with Scott for the past 4+ days nonstop. We enjoyed Disneyland a lot. We just took it slow, getting up and just taking our time to get there, going on rides when ever, not having to run to make sure we get there before the lines get to long, which by the way they weren't to bad average wait 25-30 minutes, on Thurs and Friday, not so on Saturday, but we just walked around, went to the shows and musicals, it was fun, I just missed watching my grand kids faces when they would see a Disney Character or getting on a ride, and also watching my kids watch their kids, but that will have to wait until next time when we all go together in about 2-3 years.
Thank you Scott for letting me have such a fun 50th birthday, I love you!!!
We didn't take to many pictures only because I usually take them of the grand kids, and they weren't there, so you get what you get.
The only thing that we were concerned about was our son-in-law Rich, we kept tabs on him by texting Jenn and finding out if we needed to be there for her, but she assured us that he would be fine. To find out more about his situation go to Jenn's family blog and catch up there. We love you Rich, and we are there for you.
Well it is back to real life now, back to exercising, eating right. Yuck, it is hard to come back down and face the things that you don't want to do. Oh well! Just tell me we won't have to do this in the hereafter? I will go I will do the things the Lord commands I know the Lord provides a way he wants me to obey, isn't that the way the primary song goes, well ok than Leita buck up!

The Rest of the Story!

Well the weekend was quite uneventful. It started Friday night when Scott and I had a High Priest Group Leadership meeting to go to, and had to get a babysitter for Preston. Lisa came to the rescue.

Saturday was my birthday the big "50" Lisa came and picked me up and we went to a super Saturday at her ward, we made a cute little turkey to hold suckers in it. Then dad and Joan came to visit and had lunch with us. We had a good visit. Since Preston hates to go in the car or should I say in his car seat, we just hung out at home and ordered Wings from Wingers, Scott got a call from a single sister that he home teaches that her car had broken down and he went to help her.
Sunday, church as usual, Preston made it all the way through to Sunday School and then I took him home to nap, he went right down. Lisa, Scott and the kids came over to celebrate mine and Mik's birthday (which is today), Megan and Mike came also and we had invited Brother Hal Johnson over since his wife was out of town. Mik had picked pizza for his birthday dinner, so Lisa made homemade pizza and cherry pie , which turned out really good, I made rice krispie treats for those of us that didn't want cherry pie.
We gave Mik his BYU blanket and he seemed to love it, it turned out really cute.

He also got a bike for his birthday and had bring it and show it to us.

Well Monday came and Preston was acting really weird, he usually gets up, takes a bottle, then goes back down, gets up eats baby food, bottle goes down for nap, well Monday was not like that, so I hope that he isn't getting another ear infection. He was fun to have around, you just don't take him in the car unless you want to hear crying (screaming) through the whole ride. I don't know how Amy does it, I wanted to cry with him. We did go on walks which he loved, and I needed the exercise. I walk with a friend in the ward Denise Angus, and she and others at church thinks that Preston looks like Brad, I don't see it, all I see is his dad. He is soooo cute.
Thanks Amy for letting me have this opportunity to take care of Preston.

Well as usual I have made this a long update.

So now Scott and I are off to California tomorrow to celebrate my 50th birthday, we are going to Disneyland, just the 2 of us, so next week you will get another ear full.

The Start of "UEA" Weekend

UEA started today, but we were not one of the family's that went to California to participate in ("U"tah "E"nters "A"nheim). We did that a couple of years ago and saw pretty much most of our neighbors and even our family doctor, so we are taking it pretty easy this year. I invited Mik, Kinzie and Halli over for a sleep over, including dinner and making Halloween cookies so here are is the start of our visit.
Mema and Kinzie and Halli making Halloween cookies
Tasting the dough (apparently aunt Jenn introduced the girls to cookie dough!!!!)
And Mema is the only one that got flour all over her

Papa joined in the fun of cutting out the Halloween shapes or at least he is the one that rolled out the dough, and the kids did the cutting out, usually putting the shape right in the middle of thedough. They each got a turn in cutting out the shape they picked, and then they took turns,

Halli and Kinzie's turn

Milk's turn!

They all got to have their very on dish of frosting and then shared the sprinkles, what a mess at the end of the cookie decorating, but we all had fun, especially after when they got to finally lick the spoon and eating the sprinkles that had got all over the counter. Then it was off to watch movies in Mema's room. Around 9:00 the girls came to me and said they were tired, so off to bed with them, while Mik joined Papa to watch Knight Rider.

This morning the kids were woken up by us getting up to have scripture study at 6:30 am, so the day began, and we started off with cold ceral (which they wanted), but by 10:00 am they decided or at least the girls decided to have pancakes, so out came the griddle and mema made pancakes. Mik was antsy for uncle Brad to get up so I told him to go get him up, so around 10:30 Brad got up and played games with the kids or at least teased them. Lisa came over by then and we sat and talked while the kids played games on the computer and then went home around 3:00 pm since I needed to go pick up Preston from his other Grandma, so stay tuned like I said and I am sure there will be a great story coming!

Brrrr!!!

I thought that I would show you what I see when I go for my morning walk! And yes it was cold this morning only in the 40's. I told myself that no matter what I was going walking. Pretty soon it will have to be inside, but I will hold out as much as possible to stay outside.
Yesterday was Amy's 24th birtday, so today Scott and I are taking her to lunch, since we won't see her before she and Matt go to Germany. So that means between Matt's mom and I we will be taking care of Preston, so lots of incouragement in taking care of a 6 1/2 month old. I am sure there will be some good stories for my next blog so stay tuned!!

I'm Back on Track!

Well the weekend was great, with General Conference and all. All the talks were great, now I need to go back and really read through them and gain a greater testimony of them.
Yesterday Scott and I went to my oldest brother's Stan's house for dinnner with the rest of my siblings their spouses and dad and Joan. We enjoyed each others company and the dinner was great. Gay and I were assigned soups and then we had salad that Claudia brought, french bread from Lynn and Charlene, and dutch oven apple pie from you guessed it JoAnn and Stan. Yummy! It is so nice to be able to be with my family, I look forward to it each month. I brought my camera but forgot to take pictures. Maybe next month.
Today I started back at Curves, it felt so good to get back to excersing. My foot is really starting to feel good. I now have a goal to loose 15 pounds by Christmas. I would like the encouragement from each of you. Therapy is going good, should be done with it in the next week or so. Well I hope that you all have a great week.
