What a Week!

It all started on Wednesday here is our story. Well as you know our dog Ellie had pups, but only 2, last Wednesday I went to have the pups dew clawed. Came home and thought I better put an add on to KSL. COM to sell them, but first I wanted to see how much lab pups were selling for, so I started looking and couldn't see very many lab pups for sale, I was now about on the 7th page when an add caught my eye, it read kinda of like this "We have 2 1/2 week old puppies we need to sell now, due to their mother has died tragically." I couldn't believe it. I turned to Scott who was home with a bad cold and said that we need to help these people. So we called and told them that our dog had puppies, but only 2 and thought we could help with nursing them. As it goes we now have 8 more puppies that Ellie is feeding, they are so cute and we were so glad that Ellie took to them like they were her own. The family that we are helping wrote us this letter. "We wanted to let you know how much we have been touche with your phone call to heop out and the answer to a prayer that you were to our family. We have been telling everyone around here about it, and I just wanted to let you know what a true blessing your family has been to us. We think it was such a miracle that your Ellie only had 2 puppies in her litter, that we had the add posted on KSL, that you read it and then had the motivation to call us, and that she accepted the pups so well. It just brings us to tears to think about it all. Thank you so much!' The Betteridge Family. Scott and I now know why Ellie only had the 2 pups, it wasnt' by conicedent, They were led to us. Here is a picture of Elllie and her new family.

Well that was Wednesday what a day.

On Friday my sibblings and Scott and I got together for a barbecue at my sisters. We have been meaning to get together for the longest time. We decided to start seeing each other once a month, all of us taking a turn at our house or what, or where ever. It was great to be with them and my Dad and Joan. My brother Stan was just called as their Stake President in their stake, so he told us of his experience and how it all came about. It was so neat and the spirit was so strong. I know most of you are still in shock and thinking "Stan a Stake President", And yes the Church is still true! Just kidding Stan. We are all so proud of him and know that he will do a great job, both Stan and JoAnn have big callings, JoAnn is on the Primary General Board, and doing a great job. as always. We love both of you, Stan and JoAnn, thanks for being such great examples to us.

Well now comes Saturday! Our ward put on a Fair and Rodeo for the neighborhood, and it was so fun, I had the kids come to enjoy the day with us, so Heidi brought her boys and Lisa brought the girls and Mik. I even invited the people that we are feeding their puppies (the Betterridge's) they came and brought their 2 boys and little girl. We all had a great time!!!! It started out with an early rise for the 5k run, which Bradley did. Then a pancake breakfast, then parade and then all the games which consisted of coin dive, bean bag toss, donut on a string, pie eating contest, tug of war, egg toss and assorted foot races, and horse rides, after that we had lunch which Scott was helping (as you know his is an old man now and only old men cook) the High Priest Group Leaders were in charge of cooking the hamburgers and hot dogs, beans, corn on the cob ect. It was great. All of the condements like tomatoes and onions and the corn were grown in our ward garden. Now after all of that we had the rodeo, first there was the mutton busting, then the chicken catch, we were suposed to have a greased pig catch but the time was running out, our stake had a regional conference that started at 4 for the priesthood and then the adult meeting at 7 so hopefully next year we will get all of the other things in for the rodeo. We all had such a good time and what a great thing to bring our neighborhood together. A lot of work went into all of this and we are very appreciative for the willingness to do this. Thank you to Scott and Laura Carnagie, what an awsome job well done.

Enjoy the slide show of the kids having fun!!!!!

Wow Leita! You have sure been busy! But it seems like most of it was fun and worth while. I am sure you will need to re-coop after that!

Looks like fun. Maybe next year Preston can join in for the tug-of-war. He's got pretty nice biceps.
Love ya Mom
